Ultra-thin whitetopping consists of bonding 2”-4” of fiber reinforced concrete to a worn asphalt surface. The composite action between the thin concrete overlay and underlying surface reduces the stress and allows for a thinner overlay when compared to a unbonded overlay. The addition of fibers provides post-first cracking residual strength to increase wear resistance. Fibers also minimize crack widths to lower permeability and reduce spalling.
